Technical Advisory Group for Pacific Islands Cetaceans MOU Starts Work

26 May 2011

The CMS and Pacific Cetaceans MoU Secretariat welcomes the recent establishment of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the CMS Pacific Cetacean MoU.

The TAG is designed to assist signatories with all scientific issues relating to cetacean conservation in the region.

This will include the review of CMS-related documents and requirements such as editing and updating the species’ record.

Initial tasks for the TAG will include the preparation of a summary of cetacean information on behalf of the signatories to submit at the CMS COP10.

The TAG is comprised of nine experts, who were nominated by the MoU signatories.
